Programme 2019-2020 Archive

2019-2020 Programme

All meetings take place at the Parish Room in High Green at 7.30pm on alternate Mondays throughout the year. Please contact the club through the contact page for more details.

Following the restrictions on Social Distancing introduced in MARCH 2020, the club has continued to ‘meet’ on a regular basis over the internet via the Zoom Video Conferencing platform. The club is still open for business – alternate Mondays (almost) at 7.30pm. Contact the club if you want to join us virtually.

These are the remaining meetings now until the Summer 2020 Programme is announced.

Monday 4 May 2020 – GENERAL DISCUSSION on What we photograph, how we started etc
At this meeting, we shall be discussing a topic suggested by Jim Hawley (and slightly adjusted) after discussion at the last meeting. Why do members do photography? How did you start, what sorts of things did you photograph then, what do you photograph now? Have you progressed and altered your opinion about what does it for you? You in it for the cash, the glory, the recognition or just the fun of it…?
To accompany this it would be good if members could supply 3 images (that’s just 3!) that show an early photo if available of their photography then, a medium age picture, and a recent one that demonstrates what you like photographing now. All are optional! And the age of them is up to you too!
Monday 11 MAY 2020 – DAVID KEEP – Virtual Speaker

David Keep has visited us before and is back giving us a lecture and images from the comfort of his own home… David describes it here > SPORTS IMAGES WITH IMPACT – moving beyond the record shot – Sports images are very successful on the competition circuit & there’s no surprise why – they almost guarantee an image with impact.  In this talk I’ll share my approach to gaining access, technical challenges on the day & post-processing.  Sports covered include; athletics, squash, tennis, boxing, cross-country horse jumping, speed skating, whitewater canoeing & several more.
Examples of my work can be found here –
This should be well worth attending – so please make the effort!
